Counselling is very effective in dealing with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, anger-management, bereavement, relationship, workplace etc. Our counsellors work in a person-centred way. This means that they work with you, exploring whatever issues you wish to discuss. They avoid offering advice as their role is to support you, helping you to clarify your thoughts and feelings with the aim of you deciding what is best for you.
Counselling provides you with an opportunity to talk about yourself and those closest to you with somebody who can be objective and non-judgemental. Distressing thoughts, feelings and problems can be explored in a calm, entirely confidential and secure setting. The counselling process helps you to work through your concerns and will help you to make the appropriate changes that will improve your life. Our counsellors will always take you seriously and listen to you in a calm and non-judgemental way. Your confidentiality is guaranteed.
Counselling is particularly appropriate for clients who have a specific difficulty they wish to deal with at a particular time in their lives. Counselling helps clients deal with how they are reacting to distressing or stressful events in their lives that they know about, for example relationship breakdown, abuse, redundancy, bereavement or sexuality. Talking things over with a trained counsellor may help to free a situation which has become stuck, and to dissolve some of the misery of trying to sort things out on your own. Through counselling people often gain a new zest for life and changes for the better in their personal relationships.
