What Is Reiki?
Reiki (or Universal Life Energy) is a simple system of natural healing activating, directing and applying natural energy for the promotion of health, healing, balance and wholeness, and can therefore treat any number of problems.
Unseen life force energy flows through all of us and if your energy (or life force) is depleted or in disarray, then you are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if your energy is strong and flowing, you are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki is a high vibrational healing energy which is transferred to the client via the hands of the practitioner. It is a safe method of healing that everyone can use and the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed. The client automatically draws the required amount of energy to the area or level of being (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual) that is most appropriate at the time without any conscious effort.
It is a complementary therapy as it can work in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
How is the treatment given?
The practitioner channels the energy by gently placing their hands (non-intrusively) either on or above the client, and the client will naturally draw in the correct amount of energy for their particular needs at that time.
How will I feel?
Reiki may be felt as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, colours, visualisations or nothing at all. Reiki treats the whole person (including body, emotions, mind and spirit) creating many beneficial effects that include feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Sessions are usually carried out with the client lying down or sitting, in a comfortable and peaceful environment, with no need to remove any clothing.

Reiki Tuition at Hampshire Complimentary Health Centre, Eastleigh, Southampton.
Tanya Blackiston is a Usui Reiki Master has been practicing Reiki since 2001. She is giving Reiki Attunements and tuition at the Hampshire Complementary Health Centre on Saturdays by prior arrangement.
Each Reiki tuition day includes an Attunement, full tuition and guidance, a personalised certificate, a comprehensive manual and ongoing help and support if necessary.
Reiki I
Amongst other lessons, you will learn about the history of Reiki, receive your Attunement that will enable you to open up to the Reiki energies, and experience giving and receiving Reiki. At the end of the day, you will be able to go away and practice Reiki on yourself, as well as friends and family.
Reiki II
After waiting a minimum of 21 days from Reiki I to your Reiki II tuition day, you will then go on to learn more about Reiki practice and develop your skills. Reiki II involves another Attunement which strengthens your connection to the energy. You will also learn the sacred Reiki symbols and how to give a Distance Healing.
Reiki III - Master/Teacher
Reiki III is the final stage in the Reiki training, after which you will be knowledgeable in all the systems of Reiki Healing. It is then your responsibility as a Reiki Master to pass on these sacred teachings to others with joy, respect and reverence.
Learning at each level will be interesting and fun, with a host of practical tools to assist you in the appreciation of your new found skills.

Reiki I: £100
Reiki II: £160
Reiki III: £220
The day will last approximately 6 hours, with a break in the middle for lunch.
